Dedication of the new Zell am Moos chapel
Saturday, April 13, 2024, was a memorable day in Zell am Moos, when the newly built Marian chapel "Mother of Perpetual Help" was solemnly consecrated.
This marked the end of a multi-year planning and construction phase and fulfilled a long-held wish of the Pöckl family. Under radiant spring skies, Pastor Mirko Ivkic and homeowner Florian Pöckl welcomed around 180 guests to the service, including dignitaries such as Mayor Günther Pfarl and former Mayor Johann Wiesinger.
The festive musical accompaniment was provided by a delegation from the Zell am Moos Brass Band, led by their youth bandmaster, Andreas Kapellner. Maria Egly from Ebergassing in Lower Austria played the organ. Mr. Pöckl gave a moving address, remembering the initiator of the chapel's construction, the late Mother Maria Pöckl. In her memory, the bell she had donated was rung. After the Holy Mass, the attendees enjoyed a small celebratory buffet to conclude the joyous occasion.
Although the chapel is privately owned, it is open to all visitors during the day. Visitors particularly admired the chapel's detailed furnishings, which, in addition to a life-size statue of Mary and other figures of saints, also include a gallery with a small organ.
It was undoubtedly a memorable day full of joy and community in Zell am Moos.
